Care Free - 2024

I am enthralled with the process of creating reflections and dimension within this series of oil paintings. Throughout the process of painting these balloons my mind immediately went to our personal impact and the short and long-term effects on the environment.No balloons will be purchased or used for this series of paintings. My hope is for the viewer to feel the juxtaposition of the balloons' space within the diverse landscapes in the preserve. The initial joy of the pop of bright color, its shape, and character, while at the same time the realization of the lasting impact it has on our environment.
